Why did you choose UW-Marathon County? I chose UW-Marathon County because I wanted to save money and I had an older sister who started here and she really enjoyed it.

What surprised you the most about UW-Marathon County when you arrived on campus? I always thought of UW-Marathon County as being a small school, so I was surprised that I met new people in every class I took.

Why did you choose your program/major? I chose nursing as my major because I’ve always been fascinated by how the human body works, and I love interacting with and helping people.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding? I find it interesting how so many systems and pathways in the human body are intertwined.

In addition to being a college student, what takes up your free time? Between being a student and working part-time as a pharmacy technician, I don’t have a lot of free time. But when I do, I enjoy spending time with friends and family.

Who has been your favorite professor or staff member? One of my favorite professors is Ann Herda-Rapp. I have had her for Sociology 101 and 234, and she makes class very interactive and interesting.

What do you plan to do after UW-Marathon County? I plan to transfer to UW-Madison for nursing.

What is one piece of advice you have for incoming UW-Marathon County students? Take advantage of on-campus jobs. Every little bit of extra cash in college helps. Also, make at least one friend in every class so you always have someone to go to if you miss a class or need help with something.
