A professor of creative writing at UW-Barron County, Friederich is also the recipient of a 2009-2010 Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy & Service Fellowship for a literary project promoting engage-ment of the creative imagination as a significant factor that enables rural communities and economies to flourish.
