| The award was established in 2007 through an endowed gift from Brett Barker’s mother & father to honor his grandmother. Opal (1901-1974) taught in a one-room school house in West Virginia. She attended “Normal School” at Marshall Teacher’s Institute. (Estab. 2007) |
