The applicant must:
1. be enrolled in the UW Colleges (which includes UWMC)
2. have completed a minimum of 30 credits by the end of the spring semester
3. have at least one semester as a full-time student left
4. have a minimum GPA of 3.4

This award was instituted in 2005 by the University of Wisconsin System Advisory Group on the Liberal Arts. The purpose is to support and promote the Liberal Arts and Sciences. See this website for information:

To be awarded this scholarship, students must write a 1,000-1,250 word essay discussing The Importance of the Liberal Arts in the 21st century.
