Barry Liss, associate professor of communications & theatre arts at the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County, is the latest society fellow to be inducted into UWMC’s Distinguished Faculty Society. He is the 14th UWMC faculty member to receive this honor and was recognized at the society’s annual reception in late November.

Where did you grow up? Tell us about your educational background.

I grew up in a small town in lower Michigan so I guess that makes me a troll . . . you know, someone who lives BELOW the bridge. My education is all musically based, with my studies taking me to Oregon and Colorado, in addition to Michigan.

Why did you decide to teach, and how did you develop an interest in music...

Last month the 2014 University of Wisconsin-Marathon County volleyball team completed the program’s most successful season, posting a 25-2 record and winning the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference (WCC) Championship for the third time in six years.  The Huskies also cleaned up when it came to WCC tournament and post-season player recognition.
