UWMC New York Fall Theatre Tour

October 7 -12, 2014

Featuring four exciting shows (choice of 3 musicals and 1 drama). Five nights' accommodations at the Hotel Edison, located in New York City's theatre distict on West 47th St. Plus, roundtrip air travel on United Airlines from Central Wisconsin Airport.

Beautiful tells the true story of songwriter and singer Carole King's rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband, Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann.

Bridges of Madison County features Francesca, a passionate Italian transplanted to a farm in Madison County, Iowa, who meets Robert, a globe-trotting photographer on assignment to capture the area's covered bridges.

After Midnight takes the glamour of the original Jazz Age and catapults it into a new era for modern Broadway audiences. It features pieces by composers Duke Ellington, Jimmy McHugh, Dorothy Fields and Harold Allen.

Or Bullets Over Broadway features a young playwright who agrees to hire the dim-witted girlfriend of a wealthy mobster to get his financial backing.

The featured drama will be announced in late June.

The trip also includes a three-course dinner at Langan's Restaurant and several planned tours of other New York City attractions, including a guided tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
