The University of Wisconsin-Marathon County Foundation will host the 31st Annual EATS (Educational Assistance Through Scholarships) event on Saturday, March 1, 7 – 9 p.m., on the UWMC campus. Doors will open by 6 p.m. for those who patrons who want to get an early view of the more than 40 silent auction items.
“This one-of-a-kind event provides a wonderful opportunity to support students seeking the advantages of higher education while also enjoying gourmet food, live music and a silent auction,” said Brad Zweck, executive director of the UWMC Foundation. More than 500 people attended last year’s event, which raised nearly $26,000 in support of scholarships for students attending UWMC.
EATS 2014 will feature more than 40 area chefs, who will be sharing a wide variety of appetizers, soups, entrees and desserts. EATS is open to the public and advance registrations are suggested. Tickets are $40 in advance or $45 at the door.
In addition to sampling tasty food, attendees will have their choice of some great beverages, including a wide selection of wines from Trig’s Cellar 70 and beer from Bull Falls Brewery.
The silent auction will offer a wide variety of items, highlighted by:
- "Learn to Curl" Package at the new Wausau Curling Club for a group of up to 16 people.
- Two-night stay at the NoWorries Lodge in Stephenson, MI, a luxurious 7,000 square foot, seven bedroom log home, located on a wooded six-acre retreat in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
- A $1,000 gift certificate from Jim Kryshak Jewelers.
