Open enrollment for the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County’s (UWMC) summer session is underway. Summer session courses are condensed and range in length from three to eight weeks so students can quickly earn college credits designed to transfer to UW System four-year campuses.
Current UWMC students, students attending other colleges who are in the area for the summer, high school students wanting to get a jump on their college education and new students can take summer sessions courses, so early registration is recommended.
“This is a good way for students to catch up or get ahead on their work towards a degree,” said Ron Lippi, UWMC associate dean.
During the summer session, UWMC will be offering 11 courses in a variety of subjects, all taught by UWMC professors and lecturers. Intro to College Algebra, a four-week, three-credit course, begins May 27 and ends July 3. The other classes begin on different dates in June and July, including three, eight-week courses that start June 9: Introduction to Film, Introduction to Psychology and Introduction to Chemistry.
