Why did you choose UW-Marathon County? I chose UWMC because it is close to home, affordable, and when you are undecided with your major, it makes it easier to get your generals out of the way, and then focus on what I may want to pursue for a degree in the future. Also, I get to continue to play the game I love, basketball.

What surprised you the most about UW-Marathon County when you arrived on campus? The thing that surprised me the most about Marathon County was how small it really it is. All of my classes are in one building, which makes it easy for me.

Why did you choose your program/major? Although I am still undecided with my major, I have been leaning towards becoming a packaging engineer because it requires the use of mathematics, science and your own thoughts in the design process.

In addition to being a college student, what takes up your free time? Other than studying and class work, you will more than likely find me in the gym playing basketball. And I don't think that is a bad thing. Haha.

Who has been your favorite professor or staff member? My favorite professor would have to be Paul Martin. I had him for college algebra. I really had no idea what I was doing, but he taught it so well and explained everything so thoroughly that it made it 10 times easier to learn.

What is one piece of advice you have for incoming UW-Marathon County students? One piece of advice I would give to incoming students would be to work hard. If you slack off your first semester, it will show. You won’t bounce back like you think you’re going to, and you can’t ride through college like you may have through high school. Put some hours in at the library and do your best.
