Matt Greenberg enters his sixth year as head coach of the University of Wisconsin – Marathon County Husky volleyball program in the fall of 2013. Greenberg returns after having led the 2012 team to a 15-9 record, finishing 15-3 against other two-year colleges, including being Co-Divisional Champions and leading the team to the finals of the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference (WCC) Tournament. The Huskies will enter the 2013 season looking to continue their five-year undefeated streak at home against conference schools.
The 2012 team won many individual honors, too. The Huskies had four players (Taylor Literski; Sheree Wilichowski; Katey Noland; Brianna Dobbratz) earn All-Conference awards, including Player of the Year (Literski); and Setter of the Year (Noland). Literski and Wilichowski were also named to the WCC State All-Tournament Team. Coach Greenberg claimed his second Coach of the Year award.
During Greenberg’s five seasons at UWMC, the Huskies have a regular and postseason record of 96-20-6 and have won at least a share of the Western Divisional Championship each year. In addition to the volleyball program’s athletic success, the players have made the Dean’s List 25 times.
Prior to his arrival at UWMC in 2007, Greenberg coached volleyball in the Madison, Wis. area at local high schools and with Junior Olympic clubs and summer camps. He received his master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from UW-Madison and earned his bachelors’ degree from UW-La Crosse, majoring in Business Administration and Public Administration.
Greenberg also works at UWMC as a student activities coordinator and academic advisor.
