The 2009 season will be Matt Greenberg’s second as Head Coach of the Husky volleyball program. Greenberg returns having led the 2008 team to a record of 21-2-4, sweeping through the Western Division of the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference (WCC) with a perfect record of 5-0, taking second at the Conference Tournament, while also making it to the State Tournament.

In addition to last season’s team success, the program also took home many individual honors. The Huskies had five players (Blume; Roble; Urmanski; Weinzatl; Timm) garner All-Conference awards, including three voted First Team All-Conference. The WCC coaches also selected Urmanski as the Setter of the Year and Coach Greenberg Coach of the Year, while Blume also took home All-State Team honors.

Over the past several years, Greenberg has coached year-round with numerous high schools, Junior Olympic clubs and summer camps. Currently coaching with Wisconsin Ice Volleyball Club, Greenberg has also worked with Verona High School, Madison East High School, the Oregon Acers, Madison Crush, Wisconsin Power, and the UW Badgers.

Having attended a high school with a boy’s volleyball program, Greenberg played for four years at Madison East High School before playing collegiate volleyball at Madison Area Technical College.

Born in Patterson, NJ, but raised in Madison, WI, Coach Greenberg graduated from UW La Crosse with a double major in Business Administration and Public Administration. He continued his education at UW Madison receiving his Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis. Residing in Schofield, WI Greenberg works at UW Marathon County as Student Activities Coordinator and Academic Advisor.
