UWMC Vocal Jazz Festival

Zack and Kendra

The Vocal Jazz Festival at UW-Marathon County is a non-competitive festival open to both high school and college vocal jazz groups.

Friday, April 27, 2018

Guest Artists/Clinicians: Groove for Thought!!!  (www.grooveforthought.com)

Groups will prepare 2-3 songs to perform on stage with our state-of-the-art sound system and then participate in a clinic with members of the world-renown vocal jazz ensemble Groove for Thought.

In addition to an on-stage clinic, your choir will learn from watching other high school and college groups perform, will attend masterclasses by members of Groove for Thought, will have an opportunity to work on solo singing, and will be given FREE tickets to attend an evening concert by Groove for Thought that you don’t want to miss.

A professional rhythm section will be available to perform with your group if it is desired, and a private YouTube video of your group’s performance will be created so your students can watch their performance and share with family and friends. We hope to see you in April!

Group participation fee is $250 and includes tickets for all participating students/teachers to the evening concert at 7pm by Groove for Thought!
