What is Regular Student Employment?

Regular student employment (non-work-study) is not part of the financial aid package and is available to any student. There are very few regular student employment positions on campus.

Lifeguard for Athletics Department

Biology Lab Technician-Animal Room

  • Openings: No
  • Hours per week: 3-6
  • Duties: The animal room lab technician is responsible for feeding, cleaning, and caring for the animals (pine snake, walking sticks, Death’s Head cockroaches, snails, clams, and crabs) housed in the Biology Department’s animal room. This job also includes helping with lab set up and take down.
  • Qualifications: Applicant must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

Biology Lab Technician-Greenhouse

  • Openings: No
  • Hours per week: 3-6
  • Duties: The greenhouse lab technician is responsible for watering, cleaning, and caring for the plants housed in the Biology Department’s greenhouse. This job also includes helping with lab set up and take down.

Biology Lab Technician-Glassware Cleaning and Lab Maintenance

  • Duties: The biology lab technician is responsible for cleaning glassware and general lab maintenance. This job also includes helping with lab set up and take down.

Cafeteria/Kitchen Assistant

  • Openings: Yes
  • Hours per week: Variable, M-F between 7:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.; weekends between 11:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
  • Duties: Various positions, including cooking, dish room, cash register and clean up. Desire to learn food handling techniques required.
