Current Students: Register online in PRISM after paying your $50 Advance Tuition Deposit.


New Students taking classes on campus: Fill in the Application

and Registration Form for new students and submit them with your $50 Advance Tuition Deposit.

 

New Students taking ONLINE classes:
Apply at apply.wisconsin.edu and indicate ONL for the campus you wish to attend.

Course Formats & Delivery Modes

  • Blended: a portion of the learning activities has been moved online, and time spent in the classroom is reduced accordingly by the instructor. *Computer skills are required.
  • Accelerated: a traditional 15-week class reduced to 7 weeks (or less). It requires the same amount of coursework as a traditional class, but is completed in a shorter time period.

  • Streaming Video: course lectures are recorded and made available via the internet. Class participation and assignment submission may take place online or may be combined with on-campus class attendance. Students should contact the instructor for details on how streaming video is used in a specific course.

  • Distance Education (DE) courses are offered to expand UWMC’s course offerings and to meet the time constraints of students.
    • Wisline Web: Instructors and students interact with live audio and graphics in a real-time classroom setting.
    • Compressed Video: Instructors and students interact with live video and audio in a real-time classroom setting.
    • Online: A wide variety of online courses are offered by UWC Online. These courses do not have a classroom component. Some require proctored exams. *Computer skills are required.

*Technology requirements include having access to a relatively powerful computer that is capable of handling multi-media presentations.

Interdisciplinary Studies (IS)

IS courses will help students learn to integrate knowledge from across the curriculum. They focus on multiple dimensions of a given topic by applying the content, methods and assumptions of two or more courses and instructors. Courses will apply toward general education and Associate Degree requirements.
