Academics

Academic Support

UWMC offers free academic assistance to students through the Academic Support Center – Peer Tutoring (located in Room 086), the Wausau Homes Learning Center (located in the library), and the TRIO Program (located in Room 085).

The Academic Support Center – Peer Tutoring and the Wausau Homes Learning Center are the best places to go to ensure the best start for your courses!

Wausau Homes Learning Center

The Wausau Homes Learning Center offers free academic help in writing papers for classes. It is located in the library (room 250).

Academic Support Center - Peer Tutoring

Students needing assistance with math classes are welcome to work with our math tutors free of charge. Math tutors are available every week day during all open hours on a drop-in basis. Hours and schedules are posted around campus and available in 086.

In addition to math, peer tutors for chemistry, physics, and biology are generally available in the Academic Support Center, as well. The Academic Support Center staff will arrange individual peer tutoring for any student requesting assistance in any UWMC course whose needs are not met elsewhere on campus.

TRIO Program

The TRIO program is a federally funded program that provides math, writing, advising, and study skills support to a community of eligible students.
