UW-Marathon County is an urban campus located in Wausau, Wisconsin, adjacent to 78-acre Marathon Park. The City of Wausau is two hours north of Madison and a four-hour drive from Chicago. With an average enrollment of just over 1,100, we're just the right size for your best start and unlimited career opportunities.

At UW-Marathon County you'll get a solid academic foundation that leads to success in college and in your future career. Our classes average 23 students per class, so you get more one-on-one attention and classes are taught by experienced faculty who want you to succeed. If you want an extra challenge, honors classes are available.
Our primary mission is to prepare students for transfer, but in addition to earning your Associate's Degree on our campus, you can also complete a University of Wisconsin Bachelor's Degree here. And our classes transfer to the UW four-year campuses in addition to private and other public universities.

UW-Marathon County has a Lecture & Fine Arts series, intercollegiate and intramural sports, theater productions, and other events, such as regular concerts by our choir, vocal jazz ensemble, concert and jazz bands, panel discussions on various subjects and much more to keep you busy. You can also get involved in campus life through student government, our campus newspaper, the Ambassador program, or a variety of clubs.
